Sr Ahmad Fauzi Nordin, JSM, KMN, FISM


Sr Ahmad Fauzi bin Nordin is currently a deputy director-general of the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia. He is a Land Surveyor with a qualification in Bachelor of Land Surveying (Hon.), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 1978, Post- Graduate Diploma in GIS (Cadastre), ITC, Netherlands in 1994 and also with M.Sc. (Geoinformatics), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2001.  He has wide experience in both cadastral survey and mapping systems, serving in various capacities in both areas during his more than 32 years tenure with the Department of Survey and Mapping, Malaysia.

Sr Ahmad Fauzi was appointed as a President of Institution of Surveyors Malaysia for session 2011/2012. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Surveyors Malaysia and Vice Chair of Working Group 3 (Cadastre) of United Nations Permanent Committee on GIS Infrastructure for Asia and the Pacific (UN-PCGIAP). He also has held important posts in cooperation projects and committee border between Malaysia-Thailand and Malaysia-Indonesia. At the international level, he chairs technical committees in survey and mapping.

For his services, Sr Ahmad Fauzi was awarded:
  • Anugerah Khidmat Cemerlang Kementerian Tanah dan Pembangunan Koperasi in 1988
  • Anugerah khidmat Cemerlang Kementerian Tanah dan Pembangunan Koperasi in 1996
  • Anugerah Pingat kestaria Mangku Negara (KMN) Conferred by D.Y.M.M. Yang Di Pertuan Agong in 1998
  • Anugerah Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) Conferred by D.Y.M.M. Yang Di Pertuan Agong in 2008
